Here is my opportunity to show you the style difference between the buttercream and rolled fondant designs. In my area, I find most brides confused by the type of frosting that we use to achieve the look that they desire. Most bridal magazines today only offer rolled fondant designs that brides fall in love with. Unfortunately, these designs are unable to be achieved in the buttercream. As fondant is much more labor intensive, it is more expensive. I find brides today are more budget conscious. One good compromise is a smaller wedding cake and sheet cakes to accomodate your guests. For those brides that are under the assumption that fondant is not tasty, I can only speak for myself, when I say- you haven't tasted my fondant!
This is a good example of a buttercream frosted cake. Please note the sharp edges of the squares with pearl borders top and bottom. The designs are achieved on the sides with piped buttercream.
This is a good example of a rolled fondant decorated cake. Note the smooth rounded edges, a porcelain like finish and a minimal pearl border to finish off the bottom. It is also accented with real ribbon around the base of each cake. I did pipe dots on top tier, hearts on middle tier, and swags on bottom tier, as per bride request. A few tiny fondant blossoms adorn the cake, as well.
At this time I do not accept credit or debit cards. Cash or check only. Paypal is another option, but there is a additional $25 fee to use this payment method.
As my shop is located in rural Saline Co. I deliver to Salina, free of charge. [at the present time] This includes wedding and all occasion cakes. If pick-up is preferred I ask you make this request at order time and we can schedule it appropriately. All other cakes requiring out of town delivery, I charge $1 a mile roundtrip.
